We collect personal information when you participate in elements of our website, such as Ask An Expert or Comments on blog content. We also collect personal information when you contact us by e-mail, mail or telephone to ask us questions. We also collect aggregate, non-personally identifiable website usage information. This information is collected through the use of SEO programs such as Google Analytics (monitoring software). These statistics help to show us what sections of our website are the most popular, and to improve our website content to better serve Canadian pet owners and Canadian pet professionals. We do not combine this information with personal information about you, unless express permission is asked of you.

What types of information do we collect?

  1. Pet Information We may ask you your dog’s or cat’s name, birth date, breed and/or similar information. We may also ask for photos of your pet.

  2. Pet Owner Information We may ask you for your first name and e-mail address.

We may also ask you for complete contact information, when you make an inquiry through our consumer support lines or when you participate in a promotion that requires us to contact a pet owner (for example, a contest or draw). Complete contact information means your full name, mailing address, e-mail address and home phone number.

You may also request that we remove your personal information from our records by contacting our Privacy Officer. However, this may prevent you from accessing certain portions of our website or certain services. Although we will delete active personal information from our records, residual personal information may remain in archived records or other historical records.

We will maintain your personal information in active data if we have suspended, limited, or terminated your access to the Site for violating our website Terms of Use.

How do we protect your privacy?

We safeguard our customer information in a responsible and business-like manner. We use secure systems to store customer information, and we dispose of customer information by destroying it using secure processes.
